The questions you cannot ask out loud
Pull the chair out. Nobody is watching which one you pick.
Is it wrong that I sometimes wish it was over?
No. And you are not the first good person to think it in a dark kitchen at two in the morning.
How do I get my brother to actually help?
Stop asking for help. Start assigning tasks.
Am I allowed to move her into a facility?
Yes.
What do I do when she doesn't know who I am?
You stop correcting and you start joining.
How am I supposed to afford this?
First, some of what you are paying out of pocket, you may not have to.
What if I resent her?
Then you are one person doing a job that was built for four.
Do I have to forgive her first?
No. You can care for somebody you have not forgiven.
How do I tell my job?
Say less than you think you need to, and say it in writing.
What happens to me when this is over?
You are going to be more lost than you expect, and it will catch you off guard, because some part of you has been waiting for the rest.
Why don't I feel anything anymore?
Because numbness is not the absence of feeling. It is your body putting a hand over your own mouth so you can keep working.
